The area is characterized by scattered villages nestled between the hills that link the Southern Carpathian Mountains with the Danube Plain to the south. The seemingly random placement of the houses creates an apparent lack of structure, making scale the most crucial design element. The brief requested a house that was disproportionately large compared to the historical hut on the site. As a result, we broke the brief into three smaller units in an attempt to discreetly integrate the project within the existing orchard.
